Canned Food Drive

Cuba Elementary students collected can goods as a part of the Family Resource Christmas Connection program  This program assists families of Graves County students.  A total of 753 cans were collected.  Ms. Tiffany Whaley's fifth grade class collected the most cans with a total of 233 canned goods.

King and Queen of Art

Cuba Elementary students have the opportunity to be named "King and Queen of Art" during their weekly art class. According to art teacher Sherry Darnall, students are chosen based on their willingness to answer questions, participate and try their best. Pictured (L-R) are this week's fifth grader winners Austin Salmon, Sonny Bolton, and Lexie Adams creating their crowns after their names were drawn as King or Queen.

Ex-CELL-ent Science!

Cuba Elementary fourth graders in Mrs. Simpkins' class have been studying cells. They recently created an edible model of an animal & plant cell to help them visualize different components of the cell. Pictured (L-R) are Damion Walker, Nathen Greene, and Carlos McKinney working on their cell creation.

New Flag for a New Year

Woodman of the World Field Representative, Teresa Dunaway recently presented a new American flag to Cuba Elementary. The sixth grade class is shown accepting the flag. Pictured with the students are (L-R) sixth grade teacher, Jessica McClure, Ms. Dunaway, and Amanda Henson, principal designee. The sixth graders are responsible for raising and lowering the flag in front of the school each day.
